Interested In History?

Southeast Ohio is rich in history, going back to the days of the Shawnee native american tribes that covered these hills, and the pioneering settlers who ventured out of the eastern cities into the "wilderness" west of Philadelphia.

Daniel Boone wrote in some one of his journals that he explored every tributary flowing into the Muskingum River between Zanesville and Marietta in what was then known as the Northwest Territory -- now the state of Ohio. One of those tributaries into the Muskingum flows across this property.

Did Boone walk through or alongside these creeks? Who knows?

If you have an interest in history, the Morgan County Historical Society is a great place to stop and learn. It is definitely worth a stop and lengthy visit.

Yet More Data On Increasing Farm Prices

Ohio's Country Journal magazine has a piece on how farmland values in the Midwest are climbing. While the focus is on cropland, woodlands/farmland is stabilizing and creeping back up also.

Farmer against farmer bidding is keeping values stable, or pushing them up, and continuing low interest rates (low for now, that is) is enticing people into the market.

Bird's Eye View!

In this aerial view, you can see State Route 60 to the southwest, running alongside the Muskingum River. The river stretches back to the north through Zanesville, and of course to the south, emptying into the Ohio River at historic Marietta.

The 348 acre property, as mentioned has frontage on both Pisgah Ridge Road (southwest portion of property) and Stewart Road (northwest corner of property).

Divided into several parcels, the property covers a wide swath north and east of Pisgah Ridge Road.
